Who is this course for?

This course is designed for anyone working in a supervisory position. Candidates are expected to have basic prior knowledge of health and safety issues, such as a Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification or equivalent.

Course overview:

This qualification provides a thorough understanding of health and safety in the workplace, with an emphasis on the importance of monitoring staff and controls. It also details the need for a structured management approach to health and safety and the key factors in implementing a health and safety policy.

Accidents and illness can result in disability, death or incapacity for work. A supervisor is in an ideal position to influence, monitor and train employees to ensure a healthy and safe workplace. They can also hold managers to account to ensure optimal health and safety standards are achieved. This training will ensure that employees at this level have the knowledge to perform this role.

• main concepts of health and safety
• benefits of health and safety culture
• roles and responsibilities of individuals, supervisors and management in health and safety
• health and safety control and improvement strategies available to supervisors.

Duration: 3 days, 10am to 5pm
