Fire safety training for fire marshals

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone responsible for overseeing fire safety; designated fire marshals; and anyone who needs to know how to use a fire extinguisher. Candidates must attend a refresher course every three years.

Course overview:

This training course covers the knowledge and skills needed for the role of a designated fire marshal or fire warden. It explores fire prevention, fire regulations and the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly. The course covers:

• action on discovering a fire
• common causes of fire
• fire drills and evacuation
• fire safety legislation
• fire safety precautions
• chemistry of fire
• role of fire marshal
• how to use a fire extinguisher.

Duration: One day, 10am to 5pm

Assessment

Multiple-choice test (pass mark 70%).

Successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for three years.
