Training on health and safety at work for managers
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at people working in managerial and supervisory positions and/or who have responsibility for monitoring and auditing health and safety management systems. It is also suitable for anyone wishing to deliver health and safety qualifications as part of their training provision.
Candidates are expected to have basic prior knowledge of health and safety issues, such as a Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification or equivalent.
Course overview:
This course is designed to give people working at a managerial or supervisory role a thorough understanding of health and safety standards and their responsibilities under current legislation. Topics covered include:
- management of health and safety in most businesses and work environments
- development of auditing and monitoring programmes
- design of safe practices and procedures
- liaison with enforcement officers
- legal requirements
- training staff and establishing risk assessment projects (with additional training where necessary).
The course is Ofqual regulated (Ofqual Qualification Reference: 501/2000/1) and equates to 6 QCF credits (QCF Reference: A/602/5671).
Duration: 5 days, 10am to 5pm
Assessment
This qualification is assessed through a controlled assignment and a test paper, both of which are to be completed under examination conditions.
